Awareness can only eradication Goiter disease

National Iodine Deficiency Disorders Control Program Workshop At Raipur

Raipur, October 31, 2009 - Health and Family Welfare Minister Amar Agrawal said that can the Goiter disease caused due to lack of iodine be completely eliminated with awareness only.

Chhattisgarh Health Minister informed that drives and campaigns are being conducted for eradication of many diseases in Chhattisgarh and even at national level too.

To root out Goiter and other diseases awareness is more necessary than medicines.

Mr Amar Agarwal inaugurated one day workshop conducted under National Iodine Deficiency Disorders Control Program at Press Club Raipur Auditorium. CG health minister made inaugural speech at the launch session.

National Goiter Eradication Workshop was conducted by the Department of Health and Family Welfare Chhattisgarh Raipur.

Chhattisgarh state government distribute free iodized salt to 36 Lacs families. The free salt with iodine has reduced the number of Goiter cases in Chhattisgarh state of India, which was possible due to launch of National Iodine Deficiency Disorders Control Program.
