Raipur, 08 May 2009 - Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh Dr. Raman Singh today on May 09, 2009 extended heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the people of Chhattisgarh on the occasion of Buddha Purnima. Enforcement of religion, Dr. Singh said in a greeting message issued on the eve of Lord Gautam Buddha Jayanti that the life philosophy of God Buddha based on the best human values like truth, non-violence, mercy, charity and compassion is relevant and welfare to the whole of human society today also.
Chief Minister said that today's world, living in an environment of war, violence, dangerous vendetta and terror, can get peaceful, joy-full and prosperous life by walking on path of ideals and theories of Lord Gautam Buddha. Dr. Raman Singh said that it is a matter of supreme luck for Chhattisgarh that ever lasting effect of Buddha culture can be seen in the rich history here also. Hundreds of years old Buddha Smarak (monument) and Buddha Vihar found at Sirpur on the bank of Mahanadi River, is live examples of this. The Chief Minister on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti (jubilee), prayed to Lord Gautam Buddha to provide blessing of happiness for the whole of humanity.

रायपुर, 09 मई 2009 - छत्तीसगढ़ के मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. रमन सिंह ने आज 09 मई को बुध्द पूर्णिमा के अवसर पर जनता को अपनी हार्दिक बधाई और शुभकामनाएं दी हैं। डॉ. सिंह ने बौध्द धर्म के प्रवर्तक भगवान गौतम बुध्द की जयंती की पूर्व संध्या पर जारी शुभकामना संदेश में कहा है कि सत्य, अहिंसा, दया, करूणा और परोपकार जैसे सर्वश्रेष्ठ मानवीय मूल्यों पर आधारित भगवान बुध्द का जीवन दर्शन सम्पूर्ण मानव समाज के लिए आज भी प्रासंगिक और कल्याणकारी है। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि युध्द, हिंसा-प्रतिहिंसा और आतंक जैसे खतरनाक माहौल में जी रही आज की दुनिया को भगवान गौतम बुध्द के आदर्शों और सिध्दांतों पर चलकर ही एक शांतिपूर्ण और सुख-समृध्दि से परिपूर्ण जीवन मिल सकता है। डॉ. रमन सिंह ने कहा कि छत्तीसगढ़ के लिए यह अत्यंत सौभाग्य का विषय है कि यहां के गौरवशाली इतिहास में बौध्द संस्कृति का भी अमिट प्रभाव देखा जा सकता है। महानदी के किनारे सिरपुर में प्राप्त सैकड़ों वर्ष पुराने बौध्द विहार और बौध्द स्मारक इसका प्रत्यक्ष उदाहरण हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने बुध्द पूर्णिमा के अवसर पर भगवान गौतम बुध्द से सम्पूर्ण मानवता की खुशहाली के लिए आशीर्वाद प्रदान करने की प्रार्थना की है।
