अमर शहीद की कर्म-भूमि के समग्र विकास के लिए विशेष पैकेज
सोनाखान का तेजी से हो रहा काया-कल्प

रायपुर, छत्तीसगढ़ के क्रांतिवीर अमर शहीद नारायण सिंह की जन्मभूमि और कर्मस्थली सोनाखान के कायाकल्प के लिए मुख्यमंत्री डॉ. रमन सिंह द्वारा घोषित विशेष पैकेज के तहत राज्य शासन के विभिन्न विभागों द्वारा ग्रामीण विकास के अनेक निर्माण कार्य अब तक पूरे किए जा चुके हैं। मुख्यमंत्री के निर्देश पर सोनाखान को एक आदर्श गांव के रूप में विकसित करने और उस क्षेत्र के समग्र विकास के लिए कार्य योजना बना कर प्रथम चरण में विभिन्न विभागों द्वारा अब तक लगभग नौ करोड़ रूपए के कार्य मंजूर किए जा चुके हैं। इनमें से लगभग साढ़े सात करोड़ रूपए के कार्य पूर्ण हो चुके हैं। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा है कि महान स्वतंत्रता संग्राम सेनानी और क्रांतिकारी वीर नारायण सिंह के कर्मक्षेत्र सोनाखान के विकास में धन राशि की कमी नहीं होने दी जाएगी। डॉ. सिंह ने कहा कि सोनाखान वास्तव में एक वीर-भूमि है, जिसे उसकी गरिमा के अनुरूप विकसित करना हम सबकी जिम्मेदारी है।

उल्लेखनीय है कि भारतीय स्वतंत्रता संग्राम के अमर शहीद वीर नारायण सिंह ने सन् 1856 के भयानक अकाल से पीड़ित जनता के हितों की रक्षा के लिए सघन वन क्षेत्र में स्थित सोनाखान की पहाड़ियों में अंग्रेजों के खिलाफ सशस्त्र संघर्ष का नेतृत्व किया था। इसके फलस्वरूप तत्कालीन ब्रिटिश हुकूमत ने उन्हें मृत्यु दण्ड दिया था।

वीर नारायण सिंह रायपुर शहर में 10 दिसम्बर 1857 को एक बहादुर युध्द बंदी के रूप में मौत की सजा को स्वीकार कर आजादी की बलिवेदी पर सरे-आम शहीद हो गए।  Read Full Raipur Story »
