Chhattisgarh Rabi Season Farming Starts

Agriculture Production Commissioner Reviewed Rabi Preparations

Raipur, November 11, 2009 - Chhattisgarh Agriculture Production Commissioner, Mr. Serjius Minj, issued instructions for providing on time fertilizers, seeds and medicines and including all necessary materials for cultivation in the forthcoming rabi season in Chhattisgarh state to departmental officers at Raipur.

APC, Agriculture Production Commissioner Chhattisgarh reviewed, in a meeting in Mantralaya at Raipur with Agriculture Livestock Development, Seed Development Corporation and Cooperative Department officials, preparations for the forthcoming Chhattisgarh Rabi.

Different rabi crops have been sown (Buai) so far in Chhattisgarh state in 2 lakh 11 thousand hectares area. In the current Rabi season 17 lakh 90 thousand hectares area (rakba) of Chhattisgarh Pradesh will be cultivated.

Rabi Farmers in this rabi season 2009 will be provided 78 thousand quintals of high breed seeds of wheat, gram, mustard, linseed, Tivarha including various crops.
A target of 2.5 Lacs metric tones different types of chemical fertilizers distribution to farmers has been targeted.

In the current Rabi season Chhattisgarh state government has set target of 8677 Ha area (rakba) for seed production program in Chhattisgarh farm land.
