Dr. Raman Singh expressed grief: death of former Chief Minister Arjun Singh

Raipur, March 4, 2011 - Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh expressed deep sorrow at sudden demise of former Union Minister and the then undivided Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Arjun Singh.

Mr. Arjun Singh died at AIIMS in New Delhi this evening. Dr. Raman Singh said in a condolence message issued here in Raipur that late Shri Arjun Singh was a veteran and senior statesman and an able administrator, who brilliantly discharged his responsibilities of several key ministries in Madhya Pradesh and Central Government of India and dedicated his entire life to public welfare and to the development of country and society.

Late Arjun Singh played significant role as governor in the direction of peace during difficult and challenging phase of terrorism in Punjab.

Dr. Raman Singh recalled his years of old intimate relations with Late Shri Arjun Singh, while conveying his deep condolences to his bereaved family and prayed to God for departed souls.
