Raipur, November 11, 2009 - Governor, Mr E. S. L. Narasimhan has expressed deep grief and heartfelt condolences on sudden demise of Shri Girija Prasad Mishra who was Rajbhavan (Governor House) Raipur staff and posted as Platoon commander in Chhattisgarh Armed Forces 'C' Company 7th Battalion.
Platoon commander, 56-year-old Mr Girija Mishra was on vacation to ancestral home village Sursa, Rewa district, Madhya Pradesh, where he died due to a heart stroke today morning.
On the death of Mr. Misra, Governor Mr Narasimhan paid Shradhanjali, tribute and prayed to God for peace the departed soul.
In Raipur Raj Bhavan today, on the passing away of late Shri G.P. Mishra was held a condolence meeting and two-minute silence tribute was observed.
Principal Secretary to the Governor Mr. P.C. Dalei, senior officials of the Raj Bhavan secretariat and staff were present on the occasion, in addition to military security.
