Raipur Red Ribbon Express - AIDS HIV Train called Red Ribbon Express will come to Raipur in its second phase of Chhattisgarh India journey. RRE Train will cover hundred and fifty two 152 stations of India which also includes Chhattisagrh State.

Red Ribbon Express Train is AIDS fighting Campaign using Indian Railway Network, most information providing Indian Rail Website are www.indianrail.gov.in and www.irctc.co.in this extensive and exhaustive online and offline Indian Railway resources will be fruitfull in HIV Aids Awareness Program.

Indian Congress President Sonia Gandhi, most respected leader of India, most revered Global Leader, has flagged off the Red Ribbon Express on 1 December 2009 from Delhi. The first phase of Express covered just Durg and Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh but this time it will halt at Raipur, Durg, Rajnandgaon and Champa.

This is a bold initiative to spread prevention messages on HIV I AIDS. The Express will cover 22 States in one year and more then 60 lakh people are supposed to reach through this project.

The Red Ribbon Express train will arrive at Raipur on 29th June and it will halt for 2 days. The Express will consist of eight coaches displaying different aspects of HIV and its treatment. Exhibition of bio-medical aspects of HIV/AIDS including touch screens and 3-D models, educational material focusing on care, support and treatment, socio-developmental context for enabling environment for stigma, discrimination free communities, information on general health, hygiene and communicable diseases like swine flu, TB etc are displayed on first four coaches.

Next coach contains arrangement for orientation of targeted groups through LCD Projector which will show Red Ribbon Videos and Red Ribbon Images include Red Ribbon club logo and other information and folk performances. Coach six concentrates on counselling and medical services. The next two coaches are for crew members. There is no HIV testing facility on board, however, reference of nearby ICTC centres will be provided.

The sole aim of Red Ribbon Express is to disseminate information and strengthening people's knowledge about the measures to be taken to prevent HIV/AIDS. The project is implemented in collaboration with Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, Ministries of Indian Railways, Rural Development, Human Resources Development, Social Justice and Empowerment, Panchayati Raj and Youth Affairs.
