Chhattisgarh Rajyotsava Samman 2009 of initially declared for Bilaspur Collector Sonmani Bora has been denied at 11th Hour. Shahid Veer Narayan Singh Samman was declared to Sonmani Bora for his good workings for welfare of tribals. Sonmani Bora was RMC Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Collector Kawardha and Collector Raipur.

After returning from South Africa tour Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh did veto the Chhattisgarh Rajyotsava Award to Sonmani Bora.

To a question about finalization of name of government officials for the Chhattisgarh State Award in Chhattisgarh Rajyotsava 2009, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh said that it is important for the officers and employees to perform their duties and responsibilities.

But indirectly he was targeting on the Jury for selection of award to IAS Officer, he said that following such a tradition of awarding of Government officer should be avoided.
