Water augmentation work plan in Raipur capital at fast pace

Raipur - Mayor Kiranmayie Nayak inspected Raipur water augmentation scheme filter plant construction. The water supply augmentation works is being executed under (JNNURM) Jawahar Lal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, a massive city modernisation scheme launched by Government of India.

Raipur Mayor is thinking well ahead of water crisis of shortage in coming summer. Smt Kiran Mayi Nayak specifically directed Public Health Engineering Department officials of Raipur nagar Nigam (RMC Raipur Municipal Corporation) the work of the water augmentation plan in any case to be completed prior to March 2011, while it is heavy rains in Raipur.

The water works construction to be completed next year will make Raipurians not be dependent on tankers for drinking water. Supplying water with tankers in capital city Raipur summer water crisis is a big curse on Raipurians every year.

New Raipur filter plant is having a capacity of 150 MLD.
